YOU are responsible of how HAPPY you are

April 20th, 7:56AM EST

For the last two months my twin sister Florencia has been telling me to read (or listen to the audiobook) “Girl Wash your Face”. I told her, yes yes - but never got to it. Finally after week by week of her telling me this almost every day, I finally picked up my phone and clicked away.

The book slaps you right across your face and that’s a great thing. Bottom line, the best quote I can extract is:

“You, and only you, are ultimately responsible for who you become and how happy you are.”

You maybe asking yourself, DUH - Carmen, that’s so obvious, then you are a lucky one. I applaud you! But honestly - I have to remind myself everyday.

You are the only one responsible for how happy you are. You are accountable to ensure this becomes reality daily! The author (Rachel Hollis) talks about failing and picking herself up over and again with her emphasis on: tomorrow is a new day to try again and be better!

Now do not get me wrong, this is not an easy task. Being 100% fully responsible of your happiness? It’s just too easy to blame it on a gazillion of things right? Hard to not listen to others about their opinion of you. Hard to not compare yourself, your career, your job, your position to others. But who said it would be easy?

So, while I continue to battle my own personal struggles and seek for picking myself up everyday, I urge you to start today.

Think about YOU. What are YOUR goals? Who do YOU want to become? Let’s focus together on individual GOALS and seek together to achieving them. Remember: Even if you fail today, tomorrow is a new day to start again and make sure it happens!
